The Liberty Wreck

When it comes to diving Chris and I have been completely spoiled.  Although it is something we are very new to we have already been able to dive in many world class locations.  Seeing bump headed parrot fish and pigmy seahorses in Flores, or swimming with turtles bigger than us in Borneo were both amazing; still nothing has impressed us more than the Liberty Wreck in Bali.

LibertyLibertyIt is not necessarily that this site has the biggest or the best sea life available.  It is more excitement of swimming through this huge ship to discover an unending variety of creatures living amongst the coral that has grown on this wreck.  We saw everything from nudibranch to ghost pipefish.  For Chris the best part was searching in what appeared to be small crevasses under the ship only to find huge grouper fish hiding.

Garden eels. – It was shocking to realize that what I thought was a patch of sea grass was in reality hundreds of eels poking out of the sand.

Nudibranch. – My personal favourite thing to find under the water. Every time you find one it is a new colour or shape.

LibertyLibertyWe enjoyed this dive so much we hopped right back in the water to do it for a second time as soon as we were able.
